    7mgte AFM issues, please help!

We've already discussed the fact that the HAC won't cause this kind of trouble. The HAC just happens to share some wiring with the other piece of hardware for which a code is present and with which he has had previous trouble. I do hope he checked the intake piping already... but yeah, people...

Vc should have 5v or very close.

I wasn't suggesting you test the meter yet again... I meant you might want to test the voltage at the VC pin on the harnes, it's where the AFM gets its power.

Yup, the Lex AFM that everyone likes to use is from the V8 equipped, 400 series. I suspect you just had some bad luck.

    MKIII Cruise Control

LMAO!!! :biglaugh: OR, you could just pull the seat and lie down normally. Put down a folder up blanket or a heavy jacket to lie on so the hump that's under the seat doesn't bother your back so much for the whopping two minutes you're down there. ;)

Well, I hooked up the Pro's Aux In #2 to the THW line. The MAFT Pro and ECU do not get along at start up... while cranking the MAFT Pro lost power (it's wired to power from both Acc and Ign and they're isolated with diodes, so this shouldn't have happened) and the car had a rough time cranking...

The Lexus KVAFM electronics are compatible and send the same type of signal. Runner, test the voltage at VC. Both the AFM and the HAC circuit receive power from there (in pre89 systems); If the HAC sensor is present, this may be the common link. AFAIK, a boost leak should not cause a code 31 or...

    Replacement TPS

Is there a reason the OEM won't do? The part which the TPS interfaces with is just screwed on, so I suppose that as long as the new TPS mounts to the existing mounting holes or if you build and adapter you could make almost any TPS work. I do not know of any direct bolt ons though; I suspect...

Thanks Pi. Have you found, in your extensive investigation of the TCCS, anything which might be responsible for the difference in fueling depending on whether the car was started warm or cold? Do you happen to have any additional information about the THW design or operation?

I know about TP5, I'm working with your files (and reworking them as needed) and not using it for anything critical. The higher resolution thing was just for something I want to monitor later on. I'll post back after i have a to wire up and make a log.

    7mge ACIS system questions

While I'm capable of logging this I don't feel that the reults would be entirely relevant and that it would be better if someone running a stock 7M-GE with logging capabilities were to tackle this. So I'm bowing out... perhaps Josh from Pueblo would be willing once he gets his system running.

I've already disconnected R9 when we previously spoke about making Aux In 2 usable. I'll probably wire this up and make a log tomorrow. Is the baud fix still required in TP 5? I've been thinking about trying it out anyway.

I'm sorry, actually I remember I elected not to run the resistor in series... the switch swaps the sensor for a resistor (I think the value is 1.2KΩ). I'm not terribly familiar with the inner workings of the GE ECU in this area. However, now that I have a second voltage monitor free in...

C to NC the signal runs straight through, C to NO adds a small resistor... I'll have to double check what value. I'm sure you could manage it with the Pro, much like the ETPS pass the signal through except for the first 10 seconds after the RPM are above 500 or so. You don't want it to present a...

Ah, ok... I know 14.7psi is sealevel, I'll try to remember 29.92hg/in is the same. If he doesn't mind going rich he could always satisfy the ECU with a couple resistors, but I really recommend just getting the proper part for the job.

Grim, sorry for not following up... did you get this solved? Yes, there are a number of codes which cause the ECU to adjust fuel regardless of whether there is a valid OX signal or not. Nacho, I've noticed the same behavior when working with GE electronics. It's as if the ECU has a different...

On highway decel MAP is around 9 and car is lean

It doesn't.... the sound is of the cylinders still releasing compressed air... the sound is different though. Just because there's no fuel doesn't mean the valves stay open and the engine stops compressing air.

No additional fueling or timing adjustments? It just assumes a static value and goes with it? Thanks.
