I wouldnt consider 900hp a street car. You arent going to get any where near 900hp on pump gas and running race fuel and high boost takes it out of the "street" class. The weight difference between a 4" and larger intercooler is "white noise" on a 3400lb MKIV. I would get a 4" Greddy or ETS...
Why dont you get a hydropump setup from a 1J? I think that is the best cooling solution available for your setup. I have one with a 2J setup and a KOYO radiator.
If the seller is denying it, it already sounds like he is going to give you troubles. I dont see how a gouge that deep could have happened in shipping. That looks like a pry mark. You could end up sending it back and be out the head and the money. I wouldnt return it until the seller refunds...
Why dont you just get an Aristo ECU and harness and run the 1J off of them? You can get those pretty cheap because few people use them. The Aristo ECU is map based and is set for 440cc injectors. You will have to extend the harness or you might be able to get Dr Tweak to make you and adapter...
The oil cooler does have coolent lines but that doesnt negate you having milky oil on your valve cover cap. You need to do a compression test on all cylinders.
You should really look at ETS. They have a large following in the EVO and MKIV crowd from what I have seen. They have larger coolers available, I just didnt want to hack up the front crash bar and hood latch brace. I am only going to be in the low 500's so I didnt need their larger cooler.
2JZGE will do that power nicely. There is a lot of info on using the 7M electronics for that swap. Do it right, do it once, and enjoy your Supra for many years to come.
I would have to disagree with you on that. I bought an ETS unit that is being made custom to fit the MK3 with a JZ swap. There are pics in that thread if you want to see the core difference.
I just got off the phone with ETS and they are making a custom intercooler that will mount in the factory location for our cars with a JZ swap. No cutting or fabrication is required. Core will be minimum 3x12x(as wide as they can fit on the mock car) They are going to keep the specs for...
No, I knew there were issues. I found an empty coolant jug sitting behind the passenger seat when I bought it. The owner tried to play stupid but I was buying the car for the body alone. I was hoping it would make it home but it let go on the way. Tissimo and I went back with a trailer and...
