When I installed my MSD CDI's I had to have the Tach reworked and the shop that did it was saying they're VERY fussy about voltage in so if you have any drop to the dash from say a dud/dirty ground that may cause it.
If it were a faulty ignitor I'd expect to hear/feel the car stumble at some...
Biggest + for the FFI's is keeping as much of the Cool side of the pipework out of the engine bay away from the Hot Exhaust so you're not reheating the charge air.
Shorter pipes are a bonus but won't change response times that much on their own as the gas speeds through the pipe as so high...
We're a big sometimes dysfunctional family but in general it works out and people don't hold grudges too long! <Ninja Edit> All except for that Figgie guy he keeps calling me one J ;)
Best part of SM for me is having direct access to the Admins/Mods and how quickly suggestions are implemented...
DC: Thanks we were discussing this here the other night as all of the NA Blocks I have here have the screw in but both the GTE's I have are freeze plugs!
Interesting to hear the early GTE's are screw in as well!
Depends on the year SL, my new GTE block has 2 more than my old NA block.
Not sure if this is normal but the NA Block has 2 big arse screw in plugs at the top rear side of the block whereas the new GTE doesn't.
Chucky: I haven't had to remove the seats!
Step 3: Get a good supply of bandages for when you decide to slash your wrists! ;)
Bag all the screws as you remove em it's not that hard just a pain in the ass for something as stupid as a heater!
