Main issue would be the NA ECU has no way of knowing about boost.
So it can't pull the timing back when the motor is + Boost.
It becomes a compromise in that you need enough timing to make it drive nice off boost but not too much so it detonates when on boost......
Yep that's it!
Comes and goes when you push the clutch in and out.
NOT the throwout bearing it's the little needle roller bearing inside the Input Shaft that runs on the snout of the Mainshaft.
Just about every w58 I've seen is worn through the hardening.
I had one hard faced then...
Common W58 issues can be the snout of the Main Shaft wears through the hardening and allows the Gears set to seperate under power and this causes a LOT of noise.
Quick check is to idle the car in neutral and push the clutch in and out and listen..... you'll hear what I mean is it's bad.
To...
I'd bolt a head back on and if you don't want to pull the motor and tans as a unit put a floor jack under the trans unbolt it from the Engine then start the shuffle wiggle hoist fest until it comes loose.
I've done it mutiple times both ways and as a unit it's so much easier.
Very nice Jay!
What colour is the Car?
The LHD pwr steer parts must be different as the low pressure return lines here aren't Banjo's just a 3/8 barb with a hose clamp.
500 on a stock Manifold is going to be difficult unless you have it Power Ported (Extrude Honed)
The Boss Malloy just bought should be capable of 500 easily check his thread.
To give you an idea I spent just over 6K AUD/ 4.4K USD for the Hardware only as I made the rest of the mounts and modified the Mk4TT Rotors to suit.
AP Racing 4 spot callipers
Pads
DBA Mk4TT Rotors
Goodridge lines
New Master Cylinder
I have both here and used the 7M crank for my new motor as I believe long term it will be kinder to the Main bearings as it should be less prone to Crank Whip at high engine speeds/loads.
Top 7M crank Bottom 6M
Ken: LOL a LONG time!
Recovery was a total bitch LOTS of pain and Drugs.......
Nate : LMAO not really but it's what was in my bag for the pic!
(didn't wear anything for a long time too damn painful)
