Knock sensors aren't that hard to get to. Takes about 1 hr to replace the wiring, and that's if you're soldering/shrinkwrapping your connections. Not to mention it improves your mileage and performance at the same time.

Are you sure you aren't getting spark misfire under boost?

Are the electronics on the stock AFM the same for all 7MGTE's? And are the Lexus electronics compatible as well? I read a few threads concerning the Lexus upgrade, but couldn't see any mention of whether the electronics need to be swapped out, or if the Lexus unit could stay on the AFM body...

As for the IAT sensor- it's the plastic probe that sticks down into the airflow, inside your AFM. Don't use any spray cleaner in there- it permanently kilss the electronics of the AFM.

I have what sounds to be the exact same thing, and i also think it's related to the steering rack. My inner and outer rods are less than 3 years old, and my front bearings are just as recent.
