It's stitch welded so if there is a failure in a weld it stops at that weld and doesn't continue all the way through causing the brace to fail.
(look at a pro seam welded shell to see the same)
I'm with Bob and stayed stock mounts here as they do the job and isolate a lot of noise from the suspension!
Double A Arm design doesn't really need em.
Bob: Are the any numbers stamped on the deck in one of the coolant cutouts of the gasket?
If so might be an idea finding another piston for that hole and then slap her back together for the time being.... (can't say I'm surprised though :( )
