The Water Fittings from memory are 14x1.5 metric.
The Oil side I used an Earls fitting but can't remember the pitch and thread size (10x1.0 maybe)
The Drain was just an off the shelf one.
There are 100's of little "tricks" us old guys have adopted over the years and this is where experiences comes into play.
If you follow a book to the letter you'll get a good result but most times it could be better/quicker if you have someone as a mentor.
Quick observation on this: A few weeks back when I did the 30psi/slight BHG thing after the dyno I monitored temps using my Standalone ECU hand controller while watching the stock gauge!
Between 70c/158f and 90c/194f there would be maybe a needle width change with 100c/212f being about half...
