The Mains are nice and uniform just with a bit of wear on their edges from crank flex, the Rods bearings are fatigued as in "smeared" like if they were "soft" and...

I can only speak for myself here but if I don't get a thankyou I'm very hesitant to offer advice to that person again.
There isn't a conventional seal as such Det, it's a combination of a piston ring seal and a labyrinth seal so nothing to soften up.
Most times if a Turbo is noisy it's out of balance as Jeff has indicated.

These days we're into instant gratification we want it and we want it NOW.
If you can't afford to do it now put the project on hold and shock horror try SAVING it's an old concept I know but it does work ;)...
A spray bottle of water works as well and is a little safer.
You're listening for any change in RPM as you spray around the manifold.
(used to do this with aerostart but NOT safe in any way shape or form)

I try NOT to let a fresh motor idle for extended periods and the only issue I have with the drive it hard to bed the rings school of thought is most times a fresh 7M build WILL have other issues that need sorting before you can lean on it!
IE: Leaks or Tuning that needs to be...

It highlights just how low our dyno's read compared to the US ones when you look at the majority of the higher HP cars were Mk4's!
When it's cold fill the radiator to the top park the car on a hill so the nose is higher then run it with the rad cap off and keep topping it up (make sure the heater is on hot)
Once you've done this and no more air comes out put the rad cap back on fill the recovery tank to about half way and...
