Ummm it doesn't have to be running to set it static 10 degrees.....
Turn the motor over watching the timing marks stop at 10 degrees then insert the Distributor and line it up at #1.
(making sure it's 10 degrees btdc on the Compression Stroke or your leads will be 180 out)
If you mean the rich stumble when you vent the BoV to atmosphere there are a bunch of "fixes" posted here and it all depends on how big a budget you have to how you'll solve it.
Greg: Yep they had "issues" with flooding back when they were released and you can buy a restrictor kit that replaces the inlet fitting but late model ones are fine!
Just going to puke crap all over the engine bay when they're clean then as they get oil soaked and a coat of dust they'll block up enough to stop flowing well and you risk popping a seal.......
