Big danger is some additives will glaze the Syncro surface and is very hard to remove/rectify. While affected it's taking the sharp edges off the inner taper of the Brass rings which are what grip the gear to accel/decell everything. Ford makes an additive that will help in their Motorcraft range.
I use a late 80's > 90's Ford ICS that plumbs in from the IC Pipe just before the TB to the Manifold just behind the TB so no need for a check or a filter ;)
A lot depends on how they Jig the block on the machine, most will use the pan rails as a register I prefer using the saddles but that is governed by the tooling at the shop.
Had a crooked deck on my old 4v V8 and blew 5 HG's before I discovered it :(
(The block had been O Ringed so I assumed...
It is.....
Real good idea to measure YOUR motor as there are quite a few variables piston height being one of em.
Also a good idea to measure Main bearing saddle to Deck at each end of the block.
WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
Look at the Flare seat inside the caliper, see the hole is offset?
No way will it seal on a flare end of a hose.......
Teflon on Brakes??? WTF it's NOT a tapered thread Teflon will do jackshit guys!
I don't mean to come across as harsh but Brakes...
Dow: As I stated they don't do the Stopper in anything BUT the 86mm bore and I've popped too many of the plain MHG's in development to bother using one again the Stopper is just extra insurance.
You seem to have some idea that this is the holy grail of engine building when it reality it...
