When I was a kid we used to race in an isolated industrial estate and one of the local transport companies used to have a depot there.
The Owner instead of getting pissed at us used to bring his SAR KW out and do massive burnouts with it, pretty damn cool and terrifying to watch as it came...
The heat wrap works well but it's UGLY and traps moisture while the car sits so wil rot out mild steel pipes.
Might just be left over crap/oil in the headers/turbos and will take a little while to burn off.
Spool tests will be a bit meaningless with an open DP Joe ;)
You could always get a small solenoid T into a vacc hose after the throttle body hose from the other end to the accordian pipe so it draws filtered air then use a restriction to set your cold idle speed.
Cold start press a button inside the car to open the solenoid = fast idle
Car warms up...
