When I first installed my H4 HID's one of my headlights had been replaced with a cheap JDM H4 housing that didn't have the shield I cut the one out of my second light so the beams would match not thinking it would make a difference as the HID Bulbs have reflectors....... WRONG!

In my old steel case 5 speed I ran in the 240z I used to use a 50/50 mix of gear oil and ATF to help it shift when cold.
I still say straight Syncromax would be a bad choice for a 154 (it's one of the recommended oils for the Tremec TKO the other is Dex-III)

The whole idea of foglights is that they cut under the fog and don't reflect back.....
You always turn the headlights off if it's foggy as you can't see shit with them on. (works for falling snow as well)
I guess the engineers that designed the lights just put the shields in there to piss...
On the + side for the DIS-4 setup I torched a hole in a piston after having an injector semi fail on the dyno and drove the car 50 KM's home pumping 3 qt's of oil into the IC and it still fired the plugs no problems at all :)
(would probably still fire a plug in a cup of oil)
