Well all I can add is for a 2:1 reduction force need WILL double, no big deal if you have the later PPS steering but would be a bitch on an early model Mk3.
Fitting size depends on the motor's condition and amount of blowby.
My stock motor used to breathe pretty heaving on the Dyno and used to blow the dipstick out so a quick fix was bigger hoses from the Cam covers to the CC and then to the Vacc source.
A lot depends on the whole combination to which AR you end up with, when I bought mine I was revving the motor hard (8000+) so wanted a turbine housing that wouldn't choke the motor so chose a 1.06ar.
As a manual I was seeing 1 psi in 5th @ 1900 rpm and since changing to the Auto I get 2.5psi...
