yes, there is a small heatsheild that is welded onto the pip in that area. It's always in the way of changing the hose, so it seems to snap off...
no heat protection and that hose is toast...
get that FRAM oil filter offa there before we beat yah...
go to the dealer for the turbo coolant lines, the parts stores only have fuel line in that size and it will dry and crack in under a month...
So much to do on it still, I've been there a few times now...

I've seen people put EVERYTHING on cars and go out there and be slow as balls when a stock version of their car is running laps around them. Learning how to drive in a slower car will help a LOT...
FIX THAT
If you meant the fins on fan clutch, find out WHY they broke. If that assembly is out of balance it will strain the waterpump's bearings.
Sounds like you need to fix your fan and waterpump. Do you have a fan shroud?
pick up the TSRM and READ
Your car, along with 99% of the cars on the road was built by lowly skilled people on an assembly line. There is nothing hard about auto repair in my book. (well, mechanically speaking, it's mostly disassembly, removal of bad part and reassemble, bodywork is hard)...
are you sure? I wouldn't think it would penetrate the plastic well enough to get the red out... at least not without destroying the plastic in the process...
