The GE coil is a simple coil, like found on damn near any car with a distributor. Not rare at all, and it looks almost exactly like the coil that was on my 82 hilux.
Available at any parts store...
It's dielectric grease, and no, it won't interfear, you just didn't get a good enough connection or you jumped the wrong ones (be careful, you can cause some major damage if you cross the wrong pins)
The grease prevents rust and corrosion of the connector, it's a good thing.
Depends, so far as I know the late 89 harness was simplified and they kept the provisions.
I've seen non-TEMS cars that have the plugs by the strut towers (and no, it wasn't removed)
But you don't have a wideband O2 to know for sure. I've seen what happens running the lexus AFM with stock injectors does, and it leans out bad up top.
Don't mess with the AFC unless you have a wideband as all you're doing is confusing the stock ECU and that could be very bad...
Meth is...

But... Back in the days of the MKII...that's probably the oil cooler.
Compared to my old exhaust, it's quiet as hell. Get it in the sweet spot RPM range and it's dead quiet.
The small amount of drone is very deep, and with the windows up, it's barely noticable...
At WOT it's a while 'nother story...
They don't last a long time because they're stuffed into a smaller housing causing nasty compressor surge.
The CT26's shaft is actually larger than a T04's...
Pull the rubber part out first (around where the wire used to go through)
Easy to repin as the connector looks to be in good shape.
The BVSV needs to be replaced though...
Won't look sandblasted as sandblasting will ruin the shiny casting (toyota's castings are REALLY nice for their time).
Chem-Dip is industrial strength carb cleaner, and will eat anything that isn't metal. Comes in a 5 gallon drum, can get it at an auto parts store...
