Hey guys,
I can't seem to find the info I've collected for these connections. Maybe if we can consolidate this info in one thread, we can add it to a sticky or sumthin'..
Car = 2JZ, 89+, 5-speed, ABS... dash harness is still for auto
Reverse lights - I remember these coming from 2 of the...
Just an alternative method for replacing without all of the extra work and expense following the TRSM (which we were prepared to follow, at first).
Zach90turbo helped me out yesterday and after removing the hub, he found that we could just "modify" the dust shield a bit and access what we...
Finish hooking up remaining wires and then also see if you can borrow/swap ECU. Kinda like some of the 1JZ woes, capacitors leaking etc.
Hope that's it and it's not the mystery ~2500 RPM limit deal we've gotten w/the 1Js.
Good luck!
Here's some info on some Dynamat Extreme/Xtreme (been asked a few times about it)...
The kit #14055 goes for over $250 at Crutchfield and CarToys, but Amazon has it for ~$121 Shipped (free shipping on orders over $25). Thing is, sometimes you're buying from a seller (not Amazon) and you could...
The throttle body still has the linkage for the cable. The unit can be removed. I just had mine disconnected. Somewhere in the wiring, I had a voltage leak whenever I left it plugged in. Like it was getting power, even when the car was off. Please do search for VVTi in this forum and you...
Looking to do something next weekend in The Colony... check out my help needed thread. Food & beer, $, (exchanged for some help).
We all need to get around to helping each other out and getting ready now to show up strong in Houston for TX2K8.
Guys,
I am REALLY struggling to make time to finish the swap and associated work. Needing some help (maybe next weekend). Will pay hourly for experienced Supra guys and do the Beer/BBQ thing. Oklahoma and nearby PPL are welcome (bring some sleeping bags). I had my digital cable w/HD installed...
I can't access my online storage on Yahoo right now, but I have pics/video of it in. The only real challenge people may encounter is if the ECU has the immobilizer option, but missing the original key.
Drive by wire and VVTi technology was fine and there are now quite a few people who know...
Didn't read the rest of the thread... I had one in my 90 and it came from a 1999 JDM Supra and the engine harness was NOT for an auto... the 6-speed was sold, before I got the engine. They did come in the JDM 1999-2002 Supras and many were 6-speed.
Getting ready to do my 91 (with ABS)... anyone have some timesaving tips, write-up? My 87T had ABS and I don't remember the front wheel hubs being this difficult to work with.
I don't want to pull the whole huib off if I don't have to (got lots of other work that needs my more immediate...
I've had GF issues with the Supra in the past. Took the wife to a Supra meet and she liked the MKIV, so I got her one and it's not been an issue anymore.
Now, it's about competing for the resources to make 'em nicer... time, $$, and quality of the work. She's letting me build mine up...
Been awhile since the last update... today's progress.
Engine/tranny in and "bolted up." I will be replacing the exhaust manifold this week to another that fits better (with the wastegate, etc).

^^ Ha... Been looking at the TRSM for all of the tranny stuff this whole weekend and still kinda not sure. That's why I dragged this thread from the crypts (researching)...
I even put the throwout bearing hub together yesterday... which was new for me. I always thought it was a single...
Bringin' this thread, back from the dead... I had the same question, since I've lost track of how it came assembled with the kit. Too expensive and will be a PITA to re-do, if I get it wrong.
So the raised section (top pic) goes towards the tranny, not the engine...right?
The flat/smooth...
Is the pilot bearing for the 2JZ, same as the 7M?
I have 2 of 'em on hand for mating the tranny up today, but the dealer's parts counter is closed. Just hoping someone can verify before I get started later today.

Seats came with the car...shadow grey interior was not sumthin' to pass up ;-) I was actually almost finished wih my 90/2JZ project. I was actually lookin' for a Sup for MK3 Supra Macy, when I came acroos this deal.... I knew it was the one.
Talk about weather... cold-@$$ X-mas Eve a few...
...Yeah, I saw a write up on it once. I can get one out in about 30-45 minutes. Luckily, the previous owner had already started on this one. I will wait 'til I have the engine running, before I reinstall the dash tho.
It's definitely something you can push/pull in an afternoon. PM and let...
Dynamated using 1.5 boxes so far, so I think it's probably gonna end up at 40-50 lbs. I still have to get to the insides of the doors and targa. I'm actually not reinstalling the spare, so I believe the overall weight removed/gained is about the same.
Black carpet is the 1st thing I did...
Today's progress.... Seats go back in tomorrow... so does the engine & tranny.
Removed old sheeyat, Dynamated, Dynaliner Xtreme, new BLACK carpet, and clutch/brake pedal assembly....
Sat AM...

Dang Ron.... the best work I've seen yet.
I do have a couple of pieces I can send, if you think U can find a few minutes ;-)
I want to do the 2JZ throttle body thing with a V-band flange for a BOV (please say yes, please say yes, please say yes)....
