I replaced the 1-wire sensor on the 2J (Aristo), with the Autometer sender. I wanna make sure that it's okay to do that and that the original sender/sensor did not provide some signal to the ECU or whatnot... Hopefully it's JUST used for the guage.

Unless U used a 1JZ out of a Soarer, I dunno why it wouldn't work. With the JZA70 harnesses I had, they still had the little 2-wire connector to the VSV and my heater worked.
So, I suggest if you don't have that connector, that you get one from the junkyard (should be found in other Toyotas...
