Finally clutch arrived so the build will be full swing this weekend.
Should hold my meager goals easily with a bit of headroom for improvement.
The flywheel will be machined tomorrow if i can twist my machinists arm to put it ahead of the other jobs lined up.lol.
Here's the pillar pod...
Just got a call from Extreme and the pressure plate will be upgraded to suit future needs and the clutch disc will now be a 6 puck ceramic which will hold my meager power goals. They were great to talk to and claim to have it done early this week and sent off to me so i'll maybe have it by this...
So another weekend goes by and i'm still waiting on my clutch which is at extreme clutches having a full rebuild, so hopefully this week ill have it and i'll install straight away as i have everything else i need ( i think).
I did i little painting on a few items which i'll post up once there...
Guys just on the wearing out of a 7m long block, i bought a cressida 7m that had done over 300,00klms and it had very minimal wear in the bores, you couldn't feel a lip at all.To top it off the oils used in it was pretty much the cheapest the people could afford to buy at the time. Bloody...
Thanks Les, it was pretty easy and it's not fully enclosed, just in the places i want it to be. Shame your not closer i'd give you a hand !
Thanks Ian, i wasn't sure as i hadn't had a mid sump before, all my 7m swaps were front sump.
Okay for a few updates, i pulled apart the stock turbo-a...
At the end of the day the 7m is getting pretty old now so most of the second motors are pretty screwed and nearly all would need building to get the most out of one if you are looking for good reliable results. The 1jz's or 2jz's are the slightly newer model with a few improvements so its easier...
Clutch is off to be rebuilt and hopefully in the next couple of weeks the car will be back on the road minus my dream turbo which will have to wait a little while as i spent my money on a daily ( second project of mine)
Cbr250rr i built from frame and motor up. Nothing special just a lot of fun.
Just a couple of updates guys, I've been swapping over bits from one motor to the other to keep the sensor wires happy and also swapped the sumps and pickups as the one i used for the cressida had a front sump, supra obviously a mid sump. (also swapped dipstick positions.)
Is the turbo-A sump...
Yeah it sounds like your speed sensor wire given the problem is associated with your speedo. I did a swap a few years back and it did the same thing because of the speed signal wire on decel. Get the speedo fixed and i'll bet my left nut it stops stalling. For a temp fix drive around the problem...
yeah dan the aussie dollar is worthless, i'm patient though i'll wait until i get the clutch sorted and get the gearbox and engine fitted back in and see how i am at the time for funds otherwise i'll stick with the ct26-A version.
Thanks Les, i'll look into that.I'm talking to a guy at the moment about a ITS turbo, it's great having options.lol
20 supras? thats gotta suck for second hand parts, good to see it doesn't stop you owning one.
lol @ the bug spray, i don't worry too much about them, this is just a redback...
