You could be burning oil somewhere else. I know my car used to smoke for a short time after driving but now it does it erratically and I know my rings are going out. But do the simple fix first and see what you get.

I'm starting to be weary of cometic hg's, a couple people I know have them come with defects from the factory. Just something to consider, they are more forgiving about RA, but as of right now I'm not sure I personally would use one.

Jump the dyno, but record it. The last time I went to a dyno they let us go in 4th. I didn't know about the 1:1 ratio at the time but other people used 4th.
