Hate to say it... but chances are they moved on. It happens reasonably regularly on every forum, we're not going to be very unique there.

It releases pressure from the intake tract when the throttle plate is closed. Without it, the pressure will back up into the turbo, causing compressor surge - where the engine is trying to spin the turbo one way, and the pressure backing up in the intake tract is trying to spin the compressor...

    new head gasket

The bore makes no difference, really. Well - it does, but that's another topic. What matters is how much you've had your head and block machined. The more material you have removed, the thicker you should get your head gasket. All in all, it's not a big deal either way... even the thinnest...

Is it a BHG? Is it a DIY?

No, it's not normal. The sound is low coolant bubbling through your heater core, and it shouldn't happen. BHG is the last thing to check for, however. First you burp your coolant by parking facing uphill, pull off the radiator cap (when the engine is cold) start the engine and let it idle for...

LOL... I have a copy of the old site. Actually, I have several copied, whenever we were posting an update, I'd backup the site in case of problems. Unfortunately, when we were hacked, the decision to move to software that wasn't quite so sad security wise, plus the fact that my latest backup...

    Maft

So far, I don't think anyone has gotten that feature working yet. We haven't really put much time into it, as everyone rather dislikes the idea anyhow, tuning > fcd.

Dirgle is right - we are assuming that the membrane in the wastegate assembly is toast, while the spring is still good. That would give you full closed pressure all the time.

Is it a BHG? Is it a DIY?

Oh - and buy some swiveling ratcheting wrenches - 10, 12, 14mm sizes at least. The money you save doing it yourself is great, but you're going to have to reinvest some of that into tools.

Is it a BHG? Is it a DIY?

Go for it, you'll be fine. I'm a Software Quality Assurance tech turned wrench, and haven't run into any insurmountable problems yet, I'm sure that there is just as much transferable knowledge from Chemistry. ;) As for whther it's a BHG, there is a thing called a block test that you can get...

Katzkin ALTERNATIVES??? Leather Seat Cover opions?

FYI, the vinyl they make these days is a far cry from the stuff they put in you parents 1965 station wagon. The quality, durability, and feel has improved over the years until it's literally indistinguishable from leather. As a matter of fact, high end vinyl actually costs a fair bit more than...

Anyone trying to build a nice fast Supra on a small budget is going to end up frustrated, upset, and bitter. The proper attitude is to find a car with a clean title, straight body, and sub $1000 price tag, and expect to have it running reliably and looking nice about $20k later.

Anyone have pics. of the Kaze hood???

The neat thing about being a global site, with a lot of the base cars available, is that somewhere, someone has decided to do IT, whatever IT may be. :)

    Future Plans for the forum?

:D We already have essentially the same thing - only with more bandwidth. The server that Mike hosts all this on is literally ridiculous. There is already a photo gallery - just click on the vbGallery link at the top.

What is the differance in the badgeing?

The round Toyota emblems came on the later models... 91 or 92? Jeff would know off the top of his head, I'm sure. :)

Anyone have pics. of the Kaze hood???

Hate to say it, but if Acroth doesn't have a good pic, chances are there isn't one available on the web. He put a lot of effort into digging up everything available for that site...
