i should just shut up.
i am a mechanical engineer. but im not an expert in fluid dynamics nor have i done any calculations on the subject for this application. but im just using my common sense.
sorry to offend you. i should have elaborated. the "problems" i was referring in my opinion, are the noise it produces, the plumbing required (isnt exactly a problem), and of course the cost. for a car that isnt only driven on the track and doesnt need that much fuel, i dont believe that an...
lol
but to the OP, dual walboros seem like a good route to me. genuine walboros shouldnt die on you and its more economical than external. when i was researching, the cost of an external (or 2), the controller, lines and fittings was way out of my price range for the amount of fuel i plan...
i wouldnt buy a motor from someone unless i was at least going to have it checked out by a reputable machine shop with the proper tools and experience.
this deal sounds kinda shady so i would get it checked out regardless. i wouldnt take a chance if your planning on slapping on your head and...
im also in this same position. im probably going to go with dual walboros, as ive heard of some of the "problems" with running an external.
how much power do you estimate your going to be pushing? what size injectors are you running?

sounds like your problem is that remanufactured pump. i would have just got a new pump from toyota.... especially since you spent all that money on a New block and head.
was there any damage to the bottom end?

its real hard to tell if the EGR cooler gasket is blown since there is barely any clearance. good luck finding it and/or replacing it if that is the case.
check for exhaust leaks first. when you changed the oil, did you notice anything unusual about the oil? i noticed symptoms similar to the noise you heard on my motor when it was in the early stages of rodknock.
if you dont have any fluid in you master cylinder, then that is a problem. Fill it up and find the leak, then fix it. Shifting should be smoother but not perfect in the winter
i am definitely interested in a rain guard for Targa models.... if they can be made. it sucks when it rains because when i smoke, water pours in and soaks my pants.

also look into replacing your crank damper... if your gonna put that much money into your motor, you should replace your stocker. suprarich hooked me up with an ati super damper for a good price.
if you end up needing to replace the calipers, its probably cheaper to go to a local auto parts store (like an autozone or equivalent)and getting rebuilt calipers. they are very heavy and shipping is going to cost a lot. ive never priced it out, but i assume that getting something like...
thats a pretty decent setup. you should be able to break 500 with some race fuel and a better tune. but as mentioned before, a ported head and upgraded valve train would make those numbers more realistic. building the bottom end would be a good idea as a 20+ year old motor most likely needs...
