Considering it also acts as a coolant bypass for the t-stat, I'd figure out some way to fix that...

My main problem was trying to find the info I needed for our exact setup. MS is so adaptable it's overwelming and until someone else does it with a complete stock setup, I won't do it. (I'd get a field's harness and then wire it into the MS so I wouldn't have to hack my brand new harness)...
You can pull the front of the engine apart, pull the timing covers, and spin the oil pump drive gear with a drill...
That's last resort though as assembly lube should protect everything while you crank and until you get oil flowing...
