The above link is a GREAT one to start with. Undoubtedly you'll still have questions. Post them and someone will try to help.
A 'Build Thread' isn't a bad idea either. You get to track your progress and use it as a reference in the future. A LOT of people benefit from build threads and...
As stated, gap to .031.
As far as preventing oil from getting into the galley and shorting out your plugs, I've heard of folks removing those big ol huge-ola bolts and reinstalling them with oil drain plug washers that you can find at any NAPA store.
My preference is to leave the 3rd cover...
Fluidyne, Koyo, and SWR are the popular ones.
And yes, the stock fan setup is adequate. The electric fan kit has it's benefits; but, is pricey and since you hinted that you're on a tight budget (just like the rest of us :D) I would pass on for now.
Yup. The stock plastic cap radiators are old and brittle. It is now time for you to upgrade to a radiator that has metal top and bottom caps. You won't want to put another plastic one in there. That's for sure! :D

I found a little device up under my dash that I don't want. It's one that has been known to cause MUCH grief! It's an HKS Fuel Cut Defender!!!
Can I just cut the stupid thing out of there or should I just leave it alone?
The reason I ask is because I'll be installing my 550's...
