Ok. So, my bench is carpet covered and then has a thick soft rubber mat on top of that. When I picked up the head tonight, there were only two valve depressions (small depressions) in the rubber mat. This tells me that not all of the weight was on those two valves. Possibly due to the carpet...
I can't imagine that having it rest on a carpeted and rubber matted bench would bend any of the valves. I sure hope not anyway! :sarcasm:
Can anyone else confirm?
So then the common thought is that those bubble type things are casting imperfections...? I hope that's all it is. They are...
Here's the short story:
I recently bought a 91 with a 4k complete rebuild. The previous owner kept meticulus records of everthing and I have receipts of a purchased and work orders for an installed HKS 1.2mm MHG.
I get the car and turn the boost up to 16psi and the HG blows on my first...
Tim! Wuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz UUUUUUUUUUUUUUppppppppppppppp?! :D Glad to see you've joined the ranks of great minds, great people, great cars...Ah forget that crap! Glad you're here man! Good luck on your supra hunt. I'll keep my ears and eyes open for ya.
I finally got around to putting something together for my buddy David. I sized this funny because I'm going to frame in an 8x10 for him. I hope he's going to like it.
Thanks for the EGT input guys. I just got a little worried because the gauge maxes out at 1400 deg/f.
I'll have to edit my sig soon to post the mods on my 91. :)
No problem wardog...
I would NOT go with the JVT because of fitment issues. It's not a "Drop-In" radiator by any means. I had to fab my own upper mounting brackets because the stock ones won't work and I had to do the electric fan upgrade because there was no room for the stock fan. None...
Ok. I'll be posting quite a few questions because I just bought a 'new to me' supra.
This car has a pyro gauge. The sensor is plumbed about 3" down from the elbow. When I was driving it home, around 75 mph, with the cruise on and not boosting except on the occasional hill; but, nothing...
Ok. So I replaced my wrecked 87 with a 91 this weekend. I drove the 91 home (400 miles or so) without any issues. Then today I get a code 21.
Could it simply be a bad O2 sensor...where do ya'll recommend that I begin?
Thanks...
Oh, I can find them too; but, not as close as I'd like. With diesel at $4.80+ a gallon, the closer the better! :naughty:
Thanks guys...I'm just trying to figure out what to do. I like the idea of softening the ride for those looooong cruises; but, like to stiffin it up when I'm canyon...
