Right .but that's not what I'm saying I know the stock ecu will not run 28psi. I just basing it on what the computer would do to the timing at a certing map voltage. Again just making numbers up but say at 14.5psi stock map makes 5v. That same boost on the 3 bar would be like 2.5v is that...
so on the topic of changing the map sensor to a 3bar.. keep in mind boost levels will be round 18ish.. correct me if im wrong, but it would be safer to wire in a map clamp, than to change to a 3 bar? right. cuz on the timing side of things. with the clamp wired in it would be at pulling timing...
So. I found of of my issues I had a massive boost leak. It took 30pounds of shop air to get my gauge to read 7 psi.. don't know how it was overlooked.. but shit happens. Fixed now
u can also test your o2 sensor with a volt meter. just pin it out and i think if it should read .05volt or less if i rember right. . also tap into the vf wire at the ck plug and see what the factory computer is doing.. if its pulling fuel or adding it.. when your just cruising. thier should be...
this is just something i was wanting to learn more about. im planning to switching to a aem next winter.
i like to start learning threads. i get tired of the help me fix this help me fix that thread. although im also guilty of this
haha you beat me to it.. im not looking to running 30 psi or nothing crazy, but what about 18 -20. see i dont know where it will think its at as far as the timing goes = to boost level. i would think it would think it was at 14psi. cuz right now i hit cut at 14.7psi.
also would changing to a...
well i get that. and that is all the safc2, and a fcd does also. yeah the timing thing is the only thing that scares me to do this. and thier is a limit of how much boost you can make and still have it safe on the timing side
so you both say no, and i do agree with you. but what are other...
So for those of us with out standalones. Have any of you tryd this map clamp trick to raise or eliminate your fuel cut on a 1j ..
Here is the link if you have not seen this http://www.thedodgegarage.com/turbo_map.html
So I am contenplating on trying this and just controlling boost with the...
Not sure bout 2 j.. but on my 1j I just cut the traction control off with a band saw.. and welded on a peice of intercooler pipe to the throttle bodylike so
No lol I already did the porting. I'm going to pressure test the system to ck for boost leaks. I prob will not dyno again or tear into it till after labor day. I want to enjoy it for the summer.
sorry bout that was driving.

ended up making 313/281 could not boost past 14.6. may have a leak that i over looked. i have 440s but 1 bad one. my goal is 400 so i have work to do to get their
and some mild porting im going to try to post...
going to be good day also not so good, was unable to get a working set of 440s in time. so i have to dyno on my stockers.
also going to get tuned while i am their. ill post numbers later hoping to see close to 400 maybe 380. that will be a good base line.
lol. thats funny. ill tell my volvo buddie that joke. no i think the wiring is good. i have put 4 thousaand mils on it with out a pronlem.. pretty sure its a bad injector or maybe a bad plug.
lol the funny thing is.. i acutally kinda did that.. wentto a shop near me that does bmw service. they also clean injectors. thats why i went their.. he cam out to look at what injector i had i popped the hood and he didnt say anything.. i showed him the injectors. as i started to close the hood...
