There is a starter relay under the passenger side kick panel. Pull it out, drop it on the floor (don't throw it on the floor), re-install it, and try again.
Check all related fuses.
If you wanted to go off your mechanic's guess, remove the starter and take it to your local autoparts store...
If the rear retainer on the crankshaft timing gear were to come off (like mine did) the belt would walk backwards and rub on the cam gear plate. You wouldn't know it until it either shreds or breaks.
True dat! ;)
How's your car doing...have you had time to work on it?
There's talk of a little get together over here sometime before it gets too cold. Beginning of October maybe. Interested?
Yeah, slightly stronger solder joint; but, not near as neat. Then you'd have to bend the soldered wires to slide the shrink tubing over the joint which can crack the solder and usually makes the adjacent unsoldered wire weaker.
Now if you wanted to just wrap it with electrical tape, then...
I see a walbro in your list. Any other fuel mods?
And just to be clear. Everything is back in order except the following:
AFR's
Idle
Driveability
I just want to make sure we're all chasing the same problem. ;)
Have you checked for codes?

My Maft Pro is all wired up for Speed Density. I now just need to finish up with a few IC Pipe Hiccups and then put her back together.
I'll probably fire her up tomorrow and make sure she idles. I'll make any needed idle adjustments then.
I removed the HKS FCD and all of the wire taps...
Not dis-crediting Taco here all; but, I want to add to his statement regarding the torque wrench.
Remember that a big torque wrench (1/2" Drive) will NOT work on smaller nuts and bolts. Even though it may have a range of 5 lbs to 150 lbs if you try to torque a 6mm bolt to ~12 lbs with a big...
I have to say that tracking down a slight miss or hiccup in idle can be maddening! Have you checked for codes?
That said, I'll throw out some of the things that I've seen and hopefully some other folks will too.
An oil leak in the spark plug galley can cause issues when there is enough...
294 hp and 320 tq.
That was un-tuned and on a stock fuel system. My afr's weren't in the danger zone yet; but, I didn't want to push it. The dyno operator's estimation was that I could've put down around 310 safely. I was 3 hours from home so I decided to play it safe. ;)
I am currently in transition from AFC mode to SD. I should have it all done this weekend.
grim is already there. Lucky dog... :biglaugh:
nomercy: How much nos are you injecting and at what rpm's do you have it come on at? What turbo are you running?
