Some of the high HP cars run without them, but it's very rare (think it was a Top Secret MKIV that was a track car)
Turbo death WILL occur, but on true race cars it's not an issue as they rebuild everything after the races anyway. On a street car you're fucking stupid not to run one...
Also, they make the tolerances very tight, don't force it, just keep trying until it goes straight in (when you put the shifter back in, not when putting the cup on the end of the shifter)
Doubt it's the tires as he's had the same thing happen with 3 different sets. Definately suspension related, just gotta start wiggling (also retorque subframes while you're there!)
Hawk pads are notoriously harsh...does porterfield make pads for the PBR calipers?
