Well, the fuse is a decent indication if they are blowing it all the time! ;) My system is awfully similar - only 350W total. Of course, my amps are from the days where they were hugely underrated for competition.

In my experience, either one should work fine.

Spray the white plastic backing on the original cluster flat black. That does a LOT to help with bleeding, I did that for my in - cluster boost gauge.

I've heard that another model of Toyota uses the same valve that's cast out of some metal instead of plastic. Mine has yet to give way, so I haven't tried to dig up a part number yet.
