Electric fan control idea. Looking for comments.

Okay, well, I was thinking about electric fans, and of course the problem is, how to control them. I've got an idea for this, and would like some feedback on the idea. I want to build an electric fan controller, which would trigger a relay to provide 12V to a set of electric fans. In my car...

    N/A Supra vs. V6 Firebird

@downshift: The S2000 takes off once it's revving past 6K RPM. Takes a bit to get it there, but once it is... For the V6 Firebird, I've taken on a few of those in my car before the 7M-GTE was dropped in, and you should be able to consistently take it if you're both in stock trim. The auto...

    Rear BBK anyone?

Only ever tried it with one, from the Previa van and it fit okay. Not that I'd ever likely try it as a permanent thing, and it's obvious that Toyota never intended the A70 for use on rims smaller than 16"

    350HP with stock ct26?

Probably with the support stuff that you NEED to get there without blowing something up, the cheapest and most reliable way to get to 350 WHP with the stock CT26 is to send it out for a 57 trim upgrade.

    350HP with stock ct26?

I don't know about 14 lbs + stock CT26 = reliable. I've heard of too many CT26s having bad things happen at those boost levels. For sure though, make sure that you have a very good blowoff or bypass valve, because any compressor surge at all is going to shorten the life of that turbo considerably.

    Found a W-series transmission

Well, what's wrong with it is fairly obvious, there's not much left of the gears on the left in those pics...

    Rear BBK anyone?

Well, according to the info that I have, both the Evo and STi had 17" rims stock, so no doubt that it'd work with that just fine, however, rear brakes are typically smaller than front brakes, and this combination might well work with a 16" wheel, though since it would be kind of pointless to go...

Blew efi fuse what would cause this?

The vast majority of blown fuses are caused by a short to ground. Since there are many places that the EFI system sends out voltage to, there are many places that it could short to blow a fuse.

    Wheels on backwards

I'm not sure how effective the pattern is for cooling, but I've made tire shops remove and re-mount my tires before to get them the right way. "Um... You do realize that those are directional rims, right?"

Who offers carbon fiber hatches for mkiii's?

As far as weight distribution goes, it's true that the hatch is at the rear, but it's also HIGH. For that reason, I'd say that it's worthwhile to consider. It's certainly not the first place that I'd work on for weight reduction, but I don't think that it's an all bad choice either.

maf-t BASIC. Need some help from those of you who use/used this. Won't idle!!

I've read that the MAF-T boots up slower than the stock computer, and therefore there can be codes for AFM signal because of that. And yes, the MAF has to read the air coming in to keep the car idling, or else it thinks that there is none.

    Batch fire wiring?

Right, except for whatever reason, I'm pretty sure that they paired them 4+1, 5+3, and 6+2.

    Stripped the Sawblades! Pics

Yeah, well even if you don't drive in the winter here, that crap is still on the roads all year 'round, so it just takes a bit of rain.

    Batch fire wiring?

Basically, the injectors are fired just as the first of the pair's intake valves are opening, so as the intake valves of #4 are opening, #4 and #1 injectors are fired, so at #1, the injector is a bit early. Then, when #5 intake valves are about to open, #5 and #3 injectors are fired, so the fuel...

    Batch fire wiring?

Pretty sure the injectors are batched for sequential firing order, so NOT the same. I think that it's 4-1, 5-3, and 6-2, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Taking care of the Valve Covers and there leaking issue's?

Re Valve cover bolt torque: It'd be nice if they just warped. Instead what'll happen if you overtorque those nice bolts is that the mounting ears will snap, and you'll have to replace the whole cover. Hasn't happened to me, but that's what will happen. I've got cap screw bolts in there holding...

    Heater Core kicked the bucket?

I've made a personal vow to never complain about it being too hot. Ever. 'round here, negative teens are the winter days you kick the kids out to play in the snow, you keep them in when it breaks the -35 mark, which happens more often than bears thinking about.

    Help!!!!!!

What's your RPM when y ou come to a stop? The CEL will come on if the RPM drops too low, even if the engine doesn't completely stall. That won't set off any codes.
