Sure, you could acid etch it off. Aluminum anodizing is actually part of the metal that has been chemically hardened, so it's not easy. Do you really want to get rid of it, or are you just looking to get rid of / change the color?

Don't worry about the shroud getting to close, I have the PWR radiator in mine, it's freaking HUGE, and the shroud still fits. It's a bitch to put in, have to put in the shroud and all three fans at once, but it still fits fine.

Check the low pressure coolant line from the radiator to the overflow tank. Check all the way to the bottom of the pickup line in the overflow tank for leaks. If this has a hole in it, it will push coolant out when it gets hot, and pull in air when it cools.

No, that is the BOV signal line. It should plug into the small hardline almost directly above it with the 90 degree bend in it, from there it crossed the valve covers and goes into the BOV.
