15600A is not (and never was) a part number. It is a PNC (Part Name Code). It's the same number on all Toyotas. It's just an easy way to find parts in the catalog. If the dealer didn't know this right off the bat, I'd say they were n00bs, or just having a bad day. ;)
90404-20173 is (and always...
No pre-89's had PPS. Not in Japan, not in the USA, not in Canada, not in Australia or Europe or Africa.
I've checked all my worldwide catalogs and the PS pump for all pre-89's is the same and none had PPS. All 89+ Turbos here got PPS and it was optional on N/A's.

As far as I know, Toyota does not put the vehicle's serial number on the engine, and the engine has it's own, which does not match the vehicle in any way.

Keep watching past the first bit. Most Knopfler solos take off near the mid-point. ;) I love him because he always makes it look like just some other thing to do, like drinking a glass of milk. LOL.

Yeah I spilled a glass of root beer on my computer one time. It shorted something out I'm sure, but I quickly unplugged it, cleaned it out thoroughly and it was fine for years thereafter.

I did do the 24hr endurance race with my roommate for 24 hours without pausing on January 1st/2nd though. After about 16 hours or so it's not nearly as much fun. :(
