That's not what he was asking, and he even explained that. He is looking for the rubber piece on the moulding removed, not the moulding entirely. Heh. :D
I've seen it done, looks great, can't remember where I saw it and I don't have any pictures. Oh... zooloo did it.
You cannot put a 4.10 speedo gear into an 89+ Supra, because the drive gear on the output shaft has 11 teeth as opposed to the 4.10-equipped cars that had a 10 tooth drive gear. The pre-89's with the 3.91 did have a 10 tooth drive gear, so you can throw the JZA70 driven gear into the R154 on...
If it was my car, I would remove and inspect the entire brake setup on that side to confirm what it is. Pull the caliper off, check all the bolts and sliders, etc. I'm sure you'll find something not right. Fix and reassemble then bleed.
Visual inspection is your best bet.
So what were your final tuning settings for the car, if you don't mind posting them? (Sorry, I know it's kind of a lot to type out). I'd just like to give your exact final car a try. :D
Jeff
I think I would hate delivering pizza too much to do it. Plus that wage isn't really sweetening the deal, IMO. I guess it depends on where you live, etc. It could be fun for a bit, but I'd get sick of it I think.
Yeah rust can be a big one, and I'd usually say if you're going to build a nice car, start with a decent (rust-free) foundation, but if you're really attached to that car and think you want to get it fixed, it can always be done with enough time and/or money.
Rear quarters are I believe all discontinued at this point, at least for North American part numbers. Japanese part numbers may still be good (happened with my AE86).
In any case, it's getting rarer to find, so if you want to go balls deep on your current car, get what can you can while you...
Well, that includes the painting as well. I might have been able to find a cheaper body... maybe. But then I'd probably have to fix stuff on it and get it painted too, so whatever. It's the price you pay when you want to make an old car new again.
Nope, but my AE86 does, so if you have rust, I feel your pain.
(EDIT: Yeah, I'll have spent about $9000 on rust repair on the AE86 once all is said and done. :( Gay).
