What kills me is that these peices of crap are designed to create a vortex, but if you look at a MAF, most of them have the honeycomb to straighten the airflow. Old school techology.

I had a digital dash when I owned my 87 300zx. I have a feeling that if someone get's the conversion done, they'll regret it. Although I've never owned a Toyota digital dash, my experiance tells me that they are slow in response & are a maintainance nightmare. Food for thought.

You could still have a BHG. Did you put-put around town or did you open her up? If you were just barely getting in the throttle you might not have put enough pressure on the HG to force coolant through the weak spot. Do yourself a huge favor & get your problem checked.

What is the user recommended clearance for JE's? I remember reading that .007 was too much & that .0035 was about right. Is this correct?

:withstupi It freaky, but it's like your car senses when you're doing (or not doing) your maintainance. If I don't pull the dipstick every other day, something goes wrong, but when I do, all is good. As for the Turbo, they cause more problems just because they apply additional pressure...

$1500 as is (with the parts, but you can keep the tach & shift light ;) ). Too many variables with regards to repairs the motor.
