I'm trying to remove the front body harness completely. To get it through the whole in the engine compartment (where it enters near engine compartment, by the battery), I'm assuming that you have to disconnect it from the fuse panel inside the car. Is this correct or do you have to disconnect...
You're motor doesn't look all that bad. Sure, the head looks a little rough, but for a motor that was pushing 500 rwhp, I'd say it looks pretty good.
Are you using the ziplock baggies?
I've never tried your soap method, but I think that if there is a leak, it would be fairly obvious due to fluid. Your looking for a leak in a hydraulic system.
Just a guess, but I'd say he did it by using the Stealth ECU. Did you get your car tuned & running great? I hope so. If not, you have a few months to get things straight while I get my car back on the road & start stompin some ass.:biglaugh:
Meh, I think that by taking a tape measurer with you & doing in front of the owner not only saves the both of you time, but it shows the owner that you know a little about the car. So when you say something is wrong , he/she will be more apt to accept it as fact & not as a means of getting them...
$200 for the MHG
$100 for the balance of gaskets (cheap set, add $200 for Toyota)
$75-100 for surfacing the head (only surfacing, add $150 for valve job)
$100 for new head bolts
$120-150 for surfacing the block (not including removal & tear down)
+/- $50 for misc items (oil, coolant, ect)...
I don't remember the name of it, but RadioShack sells a cleaner that works really well. It comes in an areosol can w/ a straw & it blasts the crap out of the connectors.
Cool, Did you get the PM with my address?
I can see a few wires with plugs. I think he thinned out his harness.
I caught on to that just few minutes ago....
I don't mind ditching the heater core, more on that later...
I'm going to ask for six vacuum ports. I can always cap the...
Get a new flywheel regardless. Heat caused the cracks which as we all know is a bad thing. If you surface the flywheel, there will probably be a lot taken off in order to get beyond the cracks. If you're adding more power, there will be more heat & less material to absorb the heat. You'll...
I had symptoms that were very, very similar. Check you vacuum lines again and pay close attention for any cracks. The bad thing about checking for vacuum leaks while the car isn't moving is that they can 'heal' themselves. When a car is moving, vacuum lines endure the same movement, therefor...
Thanks x87SUPRA87x. Any other ideas or comments from the peanut gallery? This is my goal (does anyone know who's it is?). I plan on keeping the PS & A/C, so it won't be that clean, but I do plan on running the engine harness thru the fire wall directly behind the back of the intake & do away...
