I replaced the bushings in my shifter & the difference was night & day. I'm converting to a R154 shortly & I'll pm you when I get my tranny out & see if you still need the bushings. If so, you can have them. I think that they were like a buck and a half or so, if even that.

I'm convinced that you're a reg that is puling some sort of prank. If you're not though, I stand by my opinion that you'll frag your motor before the new year.
I'm not sure if you meant to say "the research i did said a bgh should be ok for that amount of power", but a blown head gasket is never ok. If you do have a BHG, repair it. I recommend to evaluate the current condition of your motor. Find all the leaks & fix them, do a compression check...
