A couple more ideas.
you said the car does not rev past 5300 rpm.
Is this at WOT or not?
If it is at wot. Have you tried a light load pull past 5300 rpm? If it still does it at even light load. Then that rules out ignition system as at light load it does not take that much to initiate the...

knife edging will introduce a sharp edge that if not perfectly straight will divert air to one side more than the other. Radiusing takes care of that. ;)
Pontiac actually.
but the only diff is the pin labeling.
Both have voltage sensing inputs (Pin S in ours).
Both have the regulator turn on (F on GM IG in ours)
Both have the out put (the post for ours)
all that changes is labeling. ;)

There are a couple of note that I have not seen addressed so I will address them
The MKIII Supra uses a spark plug that is a JIS height (53mm) when measured from the seat to the top of the terminal nut.
The MKIV Supra uses a spark plug that is an ISO height (50.5mm) when measured from the...
well remember they don't need to slip once they have started to move. In drag racing, the slip is part of the initial forward movement but you are doing it at a higher load value for a hell of a longer time.
need to clarify one thing.
The tilton that is $4000 is the Triple CARBON clutch. The clutches on ebay are the bronze / sintered metallic clutches that NASCAR uses which will not survive long on slipping duties needed for drag racing.
