possible mass airflow sensor problem!!!!! please check out my dilemma!!!

thats not a mass air flow sensor, BTW, its an Air Flow Meter. My toyota pickup uses the same thing. So do ford probes (mazda 2.2l) and mazda 626's. (They're actually interchangable!) I put an AFM from a ford probe in my 22RE pickup (higher compression, bigger cam, intake and exhaust) and after...

    WTF is Bitron 4 Real?

yeah... it's all a bit shady. The feedback is very positive in an infomercial-esque way, and for some reason car manufacturers are oblivious to it, and so are exxon, castrol, etc... I think if theres anything good to put in oil, it would be mixed in with synthetics already. It's also funny that...

What's the current 1JZ rwhp record?

    Supra90turbo's build thread

I had cracks and a little rust near the tabs on both doors... I took the mig to them and now those tabs and the areas it cracked in are reinforced. i bolted a handle back in to test and theres no more flex when you pull on it

    Installed EGR...Interesting Effect on EGT

If the throttles wide open, you want as much air/fuel mixture to get in there as possible, so any recycled exhaust gas is just going to be wasting space and reducing power.

    A little piston comparison fun...

Its crazy that with such a difference in piston size the rods look so similar.

    Rebuild Questions

:( So apparently they're not as strong as traditional bearings? At what kind of power level did they fail?

    Rebuild Questions

Is there anything wrong with king bearings? That's what I told the machinist to order. ...I read the marketing crap on kings web site about the thicker conforming layer and heard a few positive comments so I thought they might be the better choice for avoiding rod knock

    Heavyweight shift knobs

The thing i like about a metal shift knob is that you can feel the vibration from the transmission better. It keeps you a little more in touch with what the synchros are doing. At least thats the experience I had in my truck. As far as them getting/feeling too hot in the sun... Ceramic coating?

    SUPRADAN's REBUILD/SWAP/RESTORATION

The idea popped into my head of having a turbo point up like that, then trying to fit a water-to-air intercooler in place of the 3000 pipe.

    I think I encountered a Supra-tacoma.

www.supracharged.com that 7m-pickup swap is what got me interested in the MKIII in the first place. I was looking for a motor to drop in my truck since my mom overheated it and damaged it. I ended up rebuilding/modding the 22RE instead, but then my interest in the MKIII was there, and once I...

AR5 Trans Take Two: The Solstice Solution

That's probobly the amount of torque that they expect the transmission to handle without breaking during its entire expected lifespan, rather than newly built with fresh oil. BTW... your contribution is greatly appreciated, lime

    Oil-water intercooler

I had been thinking about using the coolant to regulate oil temperature, by putting an intercooler inline with a radiator hose. The advantage is that it wouldn't require a thermostat because the oil can't be over-cooled by the coolant. It might also help get the oil up to a safe temp quicker...

a dyno doesn't tell you by itself. power output is only one variable when determining efficiency.
