I was just wondering if theres anything you could do to increase the longevity of a turbo as far as the way it's oiled.. I would imagine theres an ideal oil pressure you could keep it at for the best lubrication/cooling without overpowering the seals. Has anyone heard of an oil pressure...

If you want to make 1000hp, figuring out what turbo to use is going to be one of the easiest parts. I don't think you'd be asking if you were serious about that goal.

well are there any threaded holes on the front?

wow those are... um... special. a tube shaped enclosure is almost ideal for bass because the pressure on all parts of the wall is equal, unlike a box, so it won't flex. Metals are good as enclosure materials for subs too. So there are some good design principals, but they ruined it by making...

I'm not so much a fan. It's too ornate for my taste. With lots of other doo-dads like louvers and vents and stuff it would look more at home, but still not my taste.

I drove my truck for quite a while with the timing set cletus style, by ear. It was only 2 deg advanced from spec. I'm a master cletus

do it by ear, revving the engine. drive it a little, see if it pings, if it does, retard it a bit. then just drive real lightly till you get a light and do timing properly.

Ok... I just wanted to point out that rods are not rotating mass like a crankshaft, flywheel, etc. They are reciprocating mass, like pistons and valves. In other words, at constant rpm they are still absorbing energy because they are rapidly changing direction, whereas the crank and flywheel are...

All I can say is I've had the piston/rod out of a running motor, put it back in without honing or changing the ring, and have absolutely no problems. It doesn't burn any oil and has been running for 15k since then.
