    what really happened to mkiiitech.

That's called... incompetence. Major upgrades, script changes and things like that should always be tested thoroughly before they happen on production systems. That's where most of the work lies in that kind of job. Testing, planning, etc.. "spun out of control", did it? IOW, someone didn't...

    rear subframe and alignment cams

I pulled my rear subframe apart to sandblast, reinforce it, and paint. I couldn't get any of the bolts out at the 4 points where the cams are for alignment. Q1: How do these come apart? Should I just be able to take the nut off and then pound the bolt through? Q2: The suspension bars with...

    Slow's build: Wheelie Bar Equipped

I would guess he's going on the idea that colder gasses are denser. Based on that, at the same pressure there would be a greater mass of air getting pushed through the valve opening and into the cylinder. I guess the cooling ability of the alcohol takes the place of the IC in that regard...

    New Supra MPG ratings

I hope you don't mean that NA's use more fuel. High compression raises efficiency.

    75w Inverter good for laptop?

I'm sure you could find a suitable dc-dc convertor (maybe an adjustable one) not specific to the laptop which would work too. ...but it would probobly be cheaper to buy an inverter and do the back-and-forth conversion, since inverters are pretty common, and you already have the AC-DC power supply.

Stupid Mistakes I've made working on stuff, thread..

I dropped the little paper/plastic seal from a bottle of coolant into the head of my 22re and didn't realize it. Eventually it got stuck in the oil drain and made the head pool oil and smoke screen everyone behind me. :icon_conf

Enough available power to run an XBox?

Good advice. You don't have to get quite that fancy though, there are small touch screen lcds that hook up like a regular monitor and mouse.. then get a wireless low profile keyboard or something.

Damn, Having an aftermarket oil pressure gauge is scary :)

Shimming the relief valve in the pump should do absolutely nothing for idle pressure unless the valve is broken. It doesnt bleed any pressure at idle, only once it gets up to 40psi or so. A better suggestion would be to get rid of the probably-leaky stock oil cooler setup if he has it, and...

    Replacement Speakers Sound Worse-Advice Please

Watch this for me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrjwaqZfjIY Speakers have round cones because they spread stress symetrically and the net result is compressing or stretching the cone exactly along its axis of travel which its very resistant to. In other words it holds its shape best under...

    just blew my 2nd headgasket = /

I'm pretty sure you shouldn't have used the spray sealer either. They don't get along with the viton coating. There was a nice thread about it, with some debate, and then some actual facts.

    just blew my 2nd headgasket = /

you need a proper surface on the block and head. try again, do it right. to be more specific: resurface head lap the block use ARP stuff and torque to 80ft lb or so with moly on the threads (bottom if they're bolts, top if they're studs) make sure you have good balanced injectors and are...

    Idea on hood design

then once theres a window in your hood, you need blacklights and LED's in the engine bay, and hoses that glow in UV. but seriously.. It might look cool, I agree that its not worth doing to a CF hood though. Maybe you could split it up into 2 or three seperate windows to keep some metal in...

JE piston carnage! lots of pics

Sorry, it wasn't, but like people have suggested the problem is not the pistons. Something went wrong in the engine management/fuel supply realm.
