add more fuel pressure and pull more with the safc to get higher fuel cut, there are limits though.
fuel cut all day at 16psi on my setup with the cooler weather now.
what do they/you use for tunning and how are you monitoring timing?
this isnt shop talk of how to extract max power. its how to get your car running right. Which from the sounds of it, the shop cant do using oem adjustments. Oem over shop tricks any day of the week if i had to pick.
cooler was soaked in lacquer, degrease, soaked in water, soaked in wd-40 and finally flushed 2-3 times in fresh oil. Held a full qt(give or take a bit) which is right at what mazda specs it at iirc. Both end tanks get HOT with thermostat installed, opposite one barely gets warm with it out...
Im picking a cooler out tomorrow.
Do you have any way to test the rx-7 one? ill ship it to you and you can do what you'd like with it. I have nothing to measure pressure drop or anything like that, Just a hack saw :D
Took the thermostat out, oil psi is back to normal. :D Still some very light bleed off to the cooler but over all psi is back to climbing in the 30+ range above 3000rpms like before the cooler install. Guess the cooler has to much of a drop across it for safe use with a non shimmed (or...
A new filter head to block gasket as well. #96732-31070, cost me $7-8 OTD at local dealership
The spring jdub speaks of is #15132-21010 seen here CLICK
Shouldnt be but a few bucks as well. Im surprised you didnt have an oil leak if the bolt was that loose
my old one had a thick layer of white rubber covering all the connections in it.
op did you clean the afm electronics itself (little slots near top of column) or just the connector?
cooler holds full qt + filter and lines,
There is ALWAYS flow through the cooler. When the oil is cool enough to keep the thermopelet from expanding and shutting the bypass port a good portion bypasses it just not all of it. Have you noticed from a cold start its like a switch is being...
Take the thermopelet out and run it with out it installed. In theory it should run higher oil psi since its bypassing MOST of the cooler like it does when the t stat is open. Since this is the ONLY thing i have changed on mine, it is starting to look like the coolers pressure drop is more then...
well similar issue, just got it running. Cold psi is normal 20+ idle and low 40's crusing. Once hot i cant get it above 20-25 psi. I stopped revving at 3800 rpms. idle is perfect 4-10 psi. No shims on the pump, stock filter head with relief valve blocked shut routed to remote filter head...
