you only need the bic mounts if you have a pre 89 xmember(square mounts).. if you have the 89+ xmember (round mounts) you can use the jza70 brackets..

yes you can go that route.. as for power, supra nick is running 400+whp on the stock twins (usdm) at 16 psi.. he does have 264 cams though..
