I'm not saying its a major flaw. Its just the point which det might occur first then the rest of the cyls. Like on 4g63s I hear #3 is more prone to detonation for whatever reason, so you keep an eye on that one the knock sensor is places right at #3 (the number might be wrong, I dont remember...
Dyno tuning timing is Much easier though as you get a readout of how much torque the engine is making at x point on the map. You can add or subtract timing and see how it effects the same point. Makes it much easier to find the timing the engine likes rather then doing street pulls and pulling...
I'm not saying that 1jz will blow #5s cause they are weak. I'm simply saying that MAYBE #5 might be more prone to failure because of the reasons I said. Yes the engine failed due to user error, but #5 blew because I THINK that the smaller exhaust port and increased backpressure in that cylinder...
yea I know, I never dyno tuned my car with its setup, or even dynoed on anything more then 9-10 psi... I'm sure the was more in it, not too much though (I'd say less then 50hp).. I assume I probably could of gotten ~ 14-16* of timing before I ran into detonation issues with not enough octane for...
yes when doing a standalone.. You're going to make a new harness for the stock ecu? why not just use the aristo? canabalize it to what you need. I will be doing this with my aristo harness converting it to my mkiii...
if you're refering to my conservative tune I had a standalone and was running lower timing numbers (like 12* at peak torque) with 0 knock being picked up by the knock sensors..
This is what I'm talking about on 2 and 5, the restictive exhaust port is causing more backpressure (compared to...
Dont be a pussy.. turbo it
my 87 with its magical 7-8 psi feels slower then hell.. I dunno how you could drive a na in traffic without being run over (lol ;) )
Not on all cyls just 5 and 2 on both engines..
I havn't ran that much boost on my engine.. I've never ran over 18 psi on my engine.. and only 18 psi for the last couple months I had it w/ the single.. and always a rich concervative tune.. I dont remember when I first noticed the little bit...
Well this weekend I was helping a buddy swap his bottom end that he fried with my old 1j bottom end that I had in my car..
My buddy did a highway pull and it ran rough afterwards, smoke out of the oilcap, the engine was done. Didn't bother to find out which cyls were low and what the...
there are 2 of each cam sensor because there is the round and the power... check continuity on the wires.. if there wires are fine, then check the sensor its self..
thats the body pinning.. I dunno who made it but Ian (cassio) gave me those documents from when he did his aristo swap.. I guess I'll plug in the ecu and see what happens :) will know in a couple weeks..
I cant read the first one.... not a memeber..
But on this one
Its the same as the one posted on the first page in this thread (the 2jz pin out) same wording and same wrong wiring on the ISC wiring.. (comparing with the 95 tsrm).. Looks similar to Arnouts Pinnings on his site (didn't go to...
