What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Notice on his dyno sheet how rich he was? More rich than 10:1. That means there was a lot of fuel taking up space and power left on the table. Any mix of parts is only as good as its tune. I bet his numbers would have been much closer to 350 with a good tune. Perhaps beyond.

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

I'm not sure if I'm reading your comment correctly, but figured I'd shed some light here. The stock CT26 spools faster than any larger "trim". Every trim size you go up you also introduce more lag. The larger the wheel, the more air (exhaust gas, RPM) it takes to spin it. This means lots of...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Failed emissions today. NOx was high by about 20%. I'm going to try to retard timing to about 5* (it's currently at 10*) and add some ISO Heet. The car passed last time with all the same equipment. The guy driving was TERRIBLE so I'm sure that didn't help. He'd rev the shit out of it on most...

    7mge to 7mgte swap

Without the intercooler, you would need to stay completely out of boost at all times. You'd have to drive very slowly. Everywhere. All the time. The intercooler isn't used simply for WOT pulls. A turbo motor's air gets much hotter after going through the turbo, even without compression (boost)...

    2008 Supra MKIII - Project 1BYDFALT

Just watched the youtube video on the teardown. How's it sitting now?!

    7mge to 7mgte swap

You need the engine and all its sensors, an oil cooler and oil cooler lines, intercooler and intercooler piping, turbo, downpipe/exhaust, ECU, wire harness. I think that's it. You should try to get an engine, harness and ECU that all match your year. There are subtle differences year to year...

    W58 to 7mgte swap

I've owned both combinations and I much, much prefer the W58. I won't switch up the R154 until I grenade the W58. I don't know how anyone could argue otherwise. Tractor/Truck trans vs a smooth car trans... hmmm... easy decision for me until you're beyond ~400 whp.

    Another Cut Wire

If it came from the thermostat cover it might be the water temp sender. I show that as a yellow wire with a green stripe for a 1990. Your harness may be different if it's from a different year. Another option looks like the ABS Speed Sensor wire going to the B3 connector for the ECT. If you...

thinking of a gun to buy..

I seem to be replying to a lot of your threads/comments lately. Colorado is coming alive on here i guess. If you haven't already I'd strongly encourage you to go over to Blucore and do their pistol rental. I believe they have a couple smaller xD framed guns to try out. I have two buddies...

    Headlight restoration fun..

That looks awesome. My fiance's Honda Civic looks nearly as bad and I've used those kits a couple times already. It looks great for a week or two... then fades back to crap. Let us know how it holds up! I may have to pony up the cash for new oem headlights if hers keeps going bad.

    Just purchased 1987 Turbo

My vote for smoke near the turbo is leaking valve cover gaskets putting oil on the manifold. Just a guess. Inspecting that area is tough with the turbo and heat shields installed. Use a mirror on the under side and see if you can see any oil residue. The valve gaskets can be a pain to get to...

How to Replace a MKIII Driveshaft Carrier Bearing for $50

My Anchor 6062 works great so far. About 500-1000 miles on it now and it's been smooth. It was under $30 from Advance Auto. I very much doubt it will last as long as the OEM bushing/bearing simply because it is much thinner, but it definitely works as a relatively drop-in replacement option in...

Guy got hurculiner on his "hootus" Explorer forum

Wait a minute... people 4 wheel with Ford Explorers? Like go out in the middle of nowhere.... on steep inclines.... in rocky terrain.... in late 90's, early 2000's Explorers relying on their vehicle in precarious situations to not kill somebody? This sounds incredibly dangerous. Shouldn't there...

    Proud new owner of a 91 MK3!

I used photobucket (still do occasionally) until I bought a domain and started paying for my own hosting. You can upload directly to Supramania if you don't like 3rd parties. Otherwise you've got to upload it somewhere first. Photobucket works best for forum posting, IMO since they easily...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Wow, well it would certainly be nice if they were all good. They've all passed the crawl-under-and-awkwardly-pry-at-things-with-a-pry-bar test. Once I have a good set of shocks and mounts it will be easier to tell if the chassis still needs attention. Yeah the Tanabe are appealing for the...

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Koni shocks (on sale this spring), tanabe springs and new kyb mounts. I'd also like to tackle any worn bushings but none seem obviously bad. I'm sure most are bad at 335k miles though. Sent from my Moto X.

The Fruition of Obsession -- 310,000 mile makeover --

Update: Got the Autozone CPS (Cardone brand). It works fine, but measures slightly out of spec. Meh. After a spotty winter sitting a lot I killed my Die Hard Platinum battery in just under 4 years. Got a free replacement at Sears. Woo! Got my bent wheel repaired at Spec Wheels in Commerce...

What did you do to your supra today? Pics

Black, especially plastidip, can either look great or really cheap. It seems like there's not much between. I never saw your wheels black, but I think they look good silver. Throw em on the car and post another pic! Sent from my Moto X.
