    Is Supra right for me?

Supras require that you not cut corners on maintainence. Aside from that, they are very stable, comfortable and stylish cars. And with very little effort, can be made to perform as well or better than most comparable vehicles made today. Plus, you get the right to say you drive a Supra. : )

    Strange click/clunk noise

I have that problem as well. When I start from a stop, I hear a loud- almost a tap sound, like someone lightly smacked a hammer against a thick piece of metal. I haven't investigated it much yet, but i imagine it has something to do with the brake pads/ shims moving slightly.

    Downpipe question...........

The true 'divorced' DP is made so that the wastegate pipe just opens to the atmosphere, and does not rejoin the exaust flow, as the one above. The result is a very loud 'woosh' when the wastegate opens on acceleration. I have a seperated DP as shown above and like it that way, but many people do...

    frustrated with vaccuum leak

As for the squeal, I would guess the throttle body gasket. It is directional, and not symmetrical. Unbolt the TB ans check the gasket position.

    560cc injectors

I believe it's the 87-88 turbo model. The car only had 2 injectors each I believe, so you's have to get pretty lucky in that junkyard.

    WOW! Oil pump bargain!

PS- The Advance auto price is $188 I think, they list it as a discontinued/ clearance item, so I'm not sure how much of a savings that is over the other parts stores. Its listed as Sealed Power brand, but the one I got from them was Actual Aisin with the word Toyota printed into the metal.

    WOW! Oil pump bargain!

I was looking up prices on Rockauto.com, and just for giggles, I priced a new oil pump for the 7mgte. Part# 15100-42021 $103.79 ???!!! It's actually $15 cheaper than the non-turbo pump!!! What the Hey-Hey?? The listing says it's Aisin, too. I'm kicking myself, because I just 'thought'...

    fuel pump question

I believe that the relay will get power during cranking and for a second or two after. But if the car does not start, the power to the pump drops off.(JetJock can tell you for sure) I would say that if you're sure the current pump is bad (which it does sound like), replace it, then see if all...

Mesh in the front bumper = sin to the supra god?

I'm not opposed to grill mesh, but it needs to be an automotive product, not that Home Depot crap made to keep chickens in. preferably a black-chrome style finish so its weather-resistant, and slightly subdued.
