Mine had lots of chips, corrosion, etc, it was actually to the point of coolant leaking into the cylinders because it was soo corroded... When I had my head rebuilt, the machine shop welded the corrosion up for $75, and it looked really good afterward... Haven't had any problems yet.

okay, i just checked it, shaft play was as usual, but it was hard to turn the impeller, kinda jerked a little as it turned... So i'm guessing it's shot... as far as another turbo, I am VERY limited as far as funds... Just went through a head gasket job, and head rebuild... how much to...
