i painted my sawblades white too...(with rattlcan) If you put clear on them, it makes them yellow and it WILL be noticeable...just go with the white paint... the finish is pretty good too...
edit: I didn't sand mine at all, and they came out fine...
hmm, sounds like there is a small leak somewhere... check hoses for cracks? This is exactly what happened to me about two weeks ago, and it turned out to be the little 3-5" hose that comes from the bottom of the reservoir to the hardline, it had little cracks in it... was that hose replaced...
I used a tiny 1/4" ratchet w/ a 3" extension, 10mm socket, for part of it, and a 10mm combo wrench to get it just tight enough to where it wouldn't leak...you kinda have to play with it, took me like 10-15 mins...

As far as the coolant disappearing, that is definitely not a good sign...do you see any coolant leaking from anywhere? Or any on the ground after it has been parked? Does the temp. spike(overheating)? Any smoke out of the exhaust (after warm...

as for the fluid, Redline 75w-90 FTW!!!
you don't have to take anything off, there is one cap in front of each vavle cover, just behind the cam sprocket backing plate. You will have to lift up the wiring harness that goes accross the front of the engine, but no big deal...Tighten up those bolts...
