My car typically levels out at 180* unless temps are below 40 or above 95. You're saying 190* t-stat. However when i looked to get one they have different temp settings ranging from 160-19x. I def took notice to the 180....should i not get one with a lower temp since my car runs much colder...
Thanks guys, i already ordered one thanks to AF1J's link on Ebay....cost only $23 with priority shipping!!! Compare that to $55 at the dealer...thanks!
look at my sig and start from there....minus the EGR removal. I'm dead even with lightly modded C5 corvette's on 11-12lbs untuned on a stock ct if that gives you any idea of what it can do
I've googled and googled some more but nothing is coming up. I don't have a part number either which doesnt help. Toyota has them, but they want $55!!!!! You can get a complete exhaust gasket set for $6x dollars there?? Anyway, that gasket should not cost that much...anyone know where i can get...
well theres no way its working if its in there. i just adjusted the timing cause it jumped a tooth. I couldn't get the car to go past 145* water temps under boost as much as possible....
ok, will do, just wanted to try to avoid it, i don't have a garage to work in really. well i do, but its an old barn with a collapsed in concrete floor and no heat...YAY!
DOH! lol, well i guess that answer my question, i tried to troubleshoot it w/o removal
well then what is this blue connector for then??? I thought maybe that controlled the t-stat
So a number of yo were telling me i may have a thermostat issue because my water temps run so cold. It occured to me this may not be so. I no longer have the original water temp sensor as i run a water temp gauge from autometer, so its sensor took its place. Now both the OEM gauge and autometer...
FYI, i pretty much copy and pasted this from another forum i belong to, just thought i'd share. I've never done a project to this extent before...A LOT of hard work.
This project is basically adding my old car system which i miss oh so much. I got a Poineer Premier DEHP690UB for Xmas so i...
I need to cut into the carpet for a system install im doing. My only concern is fraying. I was wondering what people have used to prevent this while still maintaining looks/appeal.
I have exact measurements of what was taken off and where, just not here. they are all at school. ill get back to you on that also when the cam cover comes, which again, THANKS FORCEDTORQUE
IDK, that's for another day i guess. Likei said though, temps are typically right around the 180 mark around town or heavy/constant throttle. maybe hits 200 under a lot of boost then simply cools to 160-180 depending on temps outside
Edit: can this negatively affect performance?
I have...
Timing is set to stock as best as possible. just waiting on that cam gear plate to align the cams with...
Autometer cobalt guage, full sweep electric. Its surprises me how cold my water temps can get...ive hit below 120 going down a mountain with about 35 degree weather at about 75MPH...
New issue:
I've noticed a dramatic increase in water temps. normally im at around 170-190 around town and 120-160 and lower on a faster road at these air temps. Today i was spicing things up a bit at around 210-225 around town. I would assume this is linked to timing.....why? and what should...
