What did we learn here?
1-Work on your own car and save a ton of money.
2-Work on your own car so you'll knothe work is done right.
3-Work on your own car so you'll know what's going on with it and recognize when there is a potential problem and deal with it before it becomes tragic...
Look at your own words (I cut out all the rationalizing). You're buying low, low quality parts.
There is a reason these parts have a lifetime warranty...it's cause they're poorly made with the cheapest shit materials available. Don't you wonder why they're parts last about about a tenth as...
Bottom line:
Stock head gasket + boost dialed up to fun level=kabang!
It's not if, it's when. Usually at an inopertune time.
If you want any kind of piece of mind go MHG.
It might be a heater hose but it also might be that little hose on the back of the engine passenger side. Its about 5 or 6 inches long and bent at a 90* angle. It's a bear to get to and for that reason they tend to get ignored. If your dexterous and patient it can be changed fairly quickly...
No you don't, :nono: you just think you do. Get to understand EFI and I promise you will come to see that there is no comparison between the two. Carburators are antique technology at best (even new designs don't vary much from the first one's ever built)
It would be like saying youd rather...
he beat me to it. I was trying to get you the pictures (they really help) to this thread but thier not cooperating. :3d_frown:

My trans has this mod and works great, shifts like a built trans.
EDIT...
That's a really good idea! Sometime it's hard to see the trees from the forest. Especially if you've been staring at the forest for a long time...you know what I mean.
I applaud your tenacity, lesser men would have given up and bought a box with wheels, not you dude! You are a rare breed of...
Have you seen the the auto trans build-up thread on (sorry) S.F ?
I made the mods described in the thread (kickdown cable and shimmed acumulators) and OH MAN WHAT A DIFFERENCE! :biglaugh: :biglaugh: It shifts hard now with no slip and my car is way faster with the modified a340e. I'd...
Exterior huh? Let's see.
Custom built front clip elimintating flip up headlights probably w/ projector headlights mounted somewhere inconspicuous so I could have the wedge front end look even at night w/ CF hood (I like the contrast of the hood to paint)
CF wing like the one I have...
If it helps I had a jaguar that had a dieing rear end and it made a whinning sound that increased in pitch as speed increased. kinda reminded me of what you described in your thread. Cost like a billion and a half dollars to fix as I recall. I couldn't tell ya what the supra 3rd member costs to...
I still don't understand why there was no oil in the engine? Is this some kind of radical new set-up?
Seriously, I'm not an expert in hydrodynamics but I read somewhere that engines tend to run better with oil in them...I mean...don't quote me...but that's what I heard...
Shaeff...my experience is that all this "mechanic in a can" type stuff is snake oil.
Don't be mad at me for asking but is it possible your trying to avoid your major problem here? I know when I get frustrated with stuff I try to distract myself with trivial shit like seafoam or...whatever...
I am guessing the codes you got were 62,63,64 right????
I thought so!
You have 2 speed sensors and 2 shift solenoids (actually your 2nd speed sensor is a solenoid also). The first speed sensor is in the instrument cluster by the odometer. If this bad boy malfunctions youll pull all three...
Nice car, but I hate that color...if it's any consolation my favorite color is the 1987 dark taupe. No accounting for taste I guess. I'd leave it alone...maybe paint it....I'm thinking dark taupe.... :icon_bigg
