You got it right jdub, I'm talking about the heatshield that bolts directly to the downpipe. Incidentally, my car is a 49 state car and doesn't have a cat in the stock downpipe (or anywhere else now).
I have my speedo cable tucked against the firewall so I'm hoping it won't be a problem...
My good downpipe cracked, and while I get it repaired I'm forced to use my stock downpipe. Problem is the heatshield is a nasty rattling piece of crap.
I can't stand the deafening rattle the tin heatshield makes.
Can I tear the crappy heatshield off it and run without it, or will this...
Actually I changed the differential oil today with ford hypoid lsd oil 90wt and it seems to be pretty good. No noise (it never did make noise) and I did a little burnout on my driveway and both wheels left rubber on the ground. So I guess it's all good.
Still I am curious about the life...
I'm getting ready to re-upholster my seats in leather and I saw a guys icon in this club that had his seats done in leather. I believe it was gray with red inserts. Again it looked to be all leather and he has a picture of it on his screen icon.

THANKS!
I do feel better now...ahhhhhhhhhh!

Thanks Bud...I've been lurking.
I saved the file of you sliding around in your supra...having followed your build up, it was great to see it run and you driving it.
Question...are you saying drill a hole in the drain-plug and tap threads for the sensor? Come to think of it that kinda...
I'm putting an oil temp gauge in my Supra and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on where to locate the oil temp sender that came with the gauge?
Suprabad says;
Unless you're running insane boost this procedure works great. This is what I did and no problems w/ 18lbs of boost. Cheap is good as long as you prep it right! You can throw all the money at a car you want and if it's not prepped and maintained right you got squat,:rant: Jack...
Haven't written in a while but i feel motivated...
I had no idea Duane's car was going to be in SCC. I picked up my copy as usual (not expecting to see anything of real interest to me) and I almost shit! I drove home like a hundred miles an hour and ran to my house to read it.
IMHO none...
