Just keep in mind that there's gonna be that "getting the bugs out" period of time, and just try to be patient.
If you're anything like me you want it to be perfect immediately. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way.
Also, make sure the car is really warmed up. I've seen people who unplugged their electric fans to get the car a little hotter than it would normally run, just to burn up the hydrocarbons.
Don't overheat it though.
Thanks for the link. They look way sleeker. I love the electric fold in.
Also, they seem to be slimer and a bit longer, which I think would offer more rearward view (farther into the next lane). Plus, since they automatically fold in when you park, the extra length won't result in them...
Yeah, I see it was mentioned, but I couldn't find any negative comments about it, unless you mean the possible hazards of bad solder connections or not cleaning the flux off (which I didn't know could be a problem).
That's awesome! I'm not sure why I like it so much, but I do.
Aren't they a little smaller or more swoopy shaped? Seemed to me I remember them as being a bit sexier than standard mirrors.
Does anyone know of some sort of rule of thumb as far as placement and size of a resonator?
I don't think I have access to copy a known exhaust and if I look on the web, I wouldn't know for sure if it didn't make the droning sound
That drone will make you crazy (not to mention migrain...
You might be right but couldn't it still be the resonator?
As I understand it, the resonator has to be specific to the car. As I recall a resonator echos an oposite sound wave which cancels out the exhaust note at a given frequency.
I have always (as a cost necessity) done my own trans work, but my understanding is that auto transmission rebuilds alone are pretty pricey.
Parts are expensive but labor for trans work is huge. And I'm sure anyone who builds a solid high performance transmission is gonna be even pricier...
I'm glad you asked, I meant to mention it in my previous post.
I am running a test pipe. I have tried putting the cat on to see if it helped with the droning sound, but it made no difference (other then a noticeable power loss) so I put the test pipe back on.
I think the reonator is the...
Read my thread...that's what I'm saying, ie...the muffler and the glass pack quieted it down but it did nothing to address the low rpm droning sound, which is what I was trying to get rid of (or at least diminish).
So I would recommend a resonator and forget about adding a glasspack etc.
I have the same problem. I'm running a flowmaster and it was so loud and I had the irritating low rpm resonance. I added a glasspack to quiet it down (which it did) but, it didn't help with the low rpm resonance. Back to the drawing board for me. I will have to chuck the flowmaster for a...
Too bad...I still say I'm not hurting anyone and you are to sensitive if that really bothers you. Get a life and get off my back.
I didn't do it to offend anyone. Go kick your dog if you need something to abuse. I don't think Jeff needs you to defend his position. As far as support goes, I'm...
